Please Note the ferry for the long course departs Sealink terminal 1 hour earlier than in previous years. You are best advised to set aside the entire day for this paddle.

Race 6 long course kicks off at Cape Cleveland and finishes at Cape Pallarenda. Sealink QLD are putting on a specific trip in order to get us out to cape Cleveland for this race, Sealink have also Sponsored the tickets for all paddlers so make sure you show them some love for that.

All paddlers must be at the Sealink Ferry Terminal ready to load paddle craft onto the ferry. The ferry will be leaving at 10:30am from the Sealink Terminal to Cape Cleveland. Boats will need to be loaded between 9:45am and 10:15am. When we arrive at Cape Cleveland we will spend some time chilling out while we wait for the wind to pick up so be prepared for a little wait. Start time approx 12:00pm.

Bring a small bag and some snacks and you will be able to raid Joel’s picnic basket! Bags will be returned to Cape Pallarenda with the water safety boats. It is highly recommended that you use a waterproof bag.

The briefing will be held at Cape Cleveland.
No responsibility will be taken for damage to the craft, must load and travel with your ski/ outrigger at own risk. It is a good idea to bring pool noodles as padding for your craft to protect it during travel.
Doubles and Singles are welcome on the Sealink vessel (will be Reef Cat) if you have supporter that would like to come along and assist with the loading and unloading of skis, please let us know- they will be taken straight back to the Sealink terminal on the ferry. OC6s cannot fit on the Sealink Ferry so they must paddle over to start.
Short Course will be run in the usual format with paddlers starting and finishing at Cape Pallarenda.

Long Course

Course Description:
Boats are to be loaded at Sealink QLD on the lower deck and inside the cabin of the ferry. The ferry will get within approx. 150 metres of shore (tide dependent) where the boats will be unloaded over the back of the ferry. You must paddle them to the shore (as in previous cape to cape races). The race finishes at Cape Pallarenda beach- which is most easily sighted by looking for a large golf ball shaped radar on the mountains behind Pallarenda beach, when closer the terracotta toilet blocks are a closer sighting point to aim for.
Spectators/ helpers can watch the start of the race on the Sealink ferry but must return back to terminal via Sealink ferry soon after race begins.

Short Course
Course Description:
The short course starts at Tobruk Beach and will paddle out towards the channel marker. They will then turn left and paddle to Pallarenda Beach (this will be a similar line that the long course paddlers will be on from the Cape). This is the only point to point paddle for the short course. There may be a shorter option for SUP/Junior paddlers at Pallarenda Beach. This information will be confirmed closer to the date and will depend on numbers throughout the series.
